Soy and pancreatic cancer.

Tofu: Data about tofu was provided by 3 cohorts. No associations were found with pancreatic cancer risk (19), or pancreatic cancer death (11, 15).

Miso soup: Data about miso soup in relation with pancreatic cancer mortality was provided by 3 cohorts. A significant protective effect was found in one cohort (15), but a significantly increased risk was found in another cohort (2). The association in the remaining cohort was unclear, because of few cases (11).

Soy foods other than tofu/miso soup: Data about soy sauce-preserved foods was provided by one cohort. No association was found with mortality.

Conclusion: Inconsistent findings were done with miso soup, and no associations were found with tofu. No evidence was found for an association between soy foods and pancreatic cancer.
